One of the biggest drama of my life are my hooded eye-lids. They are thick and heavy and kind of fall down on my mobile eye-lid, hiding whatever attempt of smokey or eye liner that I could make. Frus-tra-ting. I spent a few minutes hours yesterday trying to look at some tutorials on youtube for handicapped eyelids like mine, and found one that blew my mind ! Here it is. (Beware, it is in French). I have tried it this morning and will attempt to explain the steps in English.
First the complexion. Of course you need to start with a clean and moisturized face. I applied a primer with my hands, like a cream, all over my face, to help the foundation stay on longer. Then I tried a new technic that I heard of this morning : apply concealer all over your T-Zone. It is actually a brilliant idea, since it will lighten up all that zone but cover as well the imperfections. After that, foundation of your normal color on the rest of your face, and blend. Then a bit of bronzer under your cheekbones, and blush on the top part of it, to add some volume. It is a very light version of contouring, much more natural.
Then the eyes :
Apply a primer all over your eye lids, again to help the powder stick to it.
Apply with a light color all over the eyelid, up to the eyebrow.
With a khol pencil, draw a thin line over the edge of the eyelashes, and blend with a flat brush, dragging it up to the outside corner of your eye. Do the same under your eye, from the middle to the outside corner, and blend.
Use a flat again to apply a mat orange, from the fold of your mobile eye lid, up to the eyebrow, and blend.
Apply a darker color, like dark blue, over the khol that you put before. The khol will actually emphasis the color and work as a primer. With a small brush, blend it dragging it up to the left corner, and all over the fold of your eye lids.
With a flat brush, apply a sparkly light powder in the middle of your mobile eyelid and right under your eyebrow. This will bring light to your eyes. Blend but not too much.
Then go ahead with mascara and eyebrow pencils. I went light on my eyebrows, don’t like when it seems like I shaved it off and drew it back again.
This was a very quick and almost sloppy article, and I’m really sorry for that. I took pictures of the products that I used, and plan to get back here tomorrow and add some more information. Don’t hesitate to comment if you have any questions.
Bisous bisous ;)
